When it comes to CPQ software, how do you begin to choose the right solution for your business? It can be intimidating to sift through the many options on the market today, so we’ve pulled the strengths and weaknesses of the top four CPQ systems according to real user reviews on G2 Crowd. Take a look at these four industry leaders as you evaluate your CPQ solutions.

Oracle CPQ Cloud

Based on 73 user reviews on G2 Crowd, Oracle CPQ Cloud is a four-star product. Oracle claims their CPQ solution is flexible, scalable, and enterprise-ready, and that the solution can accelerate sales, improve margins, and control sales operations.

While Oracle costs less than higher-ranking Apttus, its adoption rate is lower, and the software requires more time to go live, often taking months to get teams fully ramped up and working in the CPQ. Oracle is also ranked lower for CRM integration, and for its reporting and dashboard features and functionality. Where Oracle wins and scores best among users is in mobile user support, scalability, and its configuration features.

QuoteWerks

QuoteWerks is rated 4.5 stars out of 109 reviews on G2 Crowd, placing it slightly above Oracle, though still below Salesforce and Apttus due to review volume. Like most CPQ software, QuoteWerks integrates with popular CRM and contract management software, It also integrates with QuickBooks for estimates and invoicing, as well as FedEx and UPS for real-time shipping quotes from carriers.

QuoteWerks offers a free trial, unlike Apttus and Oracle, and it scores consistently high across the board in ease of use categories, quality of support, pricing features, quoting features, and for overall performance and scalability. The software falls short in the offline support and mobile user support categories and is noted for its less-than-ideal formatting options within the software.

Apttus CPQ

Apttus is rated four out of five stars on G2 Crowd, based on 115 user reviews. Apttus markets its product as intelligent CPQ software, focusing on using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the sales process. The Apttus software features an AI character named Max who enables users to interact with their CPQ software via a conversational user interface, such as with text or speech.

It’s no surprise, then, that Apttus wins in the guided selling category, based on G2 Crowd reviews. Apttus also ranks high in the Admin section, specifically for pricing administration, document administration, and workflow management. Apttus is also highly-rated for platform features such as CRM integration, integration API, internationalization, and reporting and dashboards. It does have its shortcomings, however, notably in average time to reach ROI, the software’s overall price, and its ease of use.

Salesforce CPQ

Salesforce CPQ rated four out of five stars has almost double the number of reviews and higher usage rates than the other three software solutions, with 215 user reviews. Salesforce markets its CPQ while relying on its reputation as the most advanced and trusted CRM platform.

Like QuoteWerks, Salesforce CPQ offers a free trial of its product, allowing prospects to test out its capabilities before purchasing. And, as mentioned above, it’s no surprise that Salesforce CPQ wins in the CRM integration category. Its pricing and configuration features all consistently rank high, and its quoting features rank highly as well.

And while Salesforce CPQ is highly-rated for its ease of use, should you choose Salesforce for your CPQ software, you may still want to consider hiring a professional implementation team to help get you started with the platform.
